State of Michigan aid estimates

In 2024–25, most NMC students who received the Community College Guarantee, Michigan Reconnect or Michigan Achievement Scholarship had their tuition and fees fully covered by a combination of aid and scholarships.

However, as a future student, you may not see all of your State of Michigan aid in your initial financial aid offer. That's because you have to be registered for classes in order for NMC to calculate your total award amounts. Also, NMC scholarships are awarded year-round, with most completed by June 1.

​ Through the generosity of the NMC Foundation, NMC has committed to provide Northwest Ed Career Tech graduates with the Community College Guarantee, regardless of county of residence, full free tuition and fees if they are eligible for a Pell grant at any level of qualification. This will be accomplished through combined state, federal and NMC grants and scholarships.

Students enrolled in NMC’s bachelor degree programs — Marine Technology or Maritime Technology — are eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, which offers up to $27,500 over five years (up to $5,500 per year).
