What is AutoAccess?

AutoAccess delivers course materials electronically through Moodle, guaranteeing that all enrolled students will have access to the required materials from the first day of class. AutoAccess allows the bookstore to keep prices low for students; in most cases, AutoAccess is the lowest cost option for students. AutoAccess materials are billed directly to students’ NMC accounts at the time of registration. Students who wish to “opt out” of the program can do so at any time through the first 2 weeks of class.

  1. How will I get my access codes?

    1. The bookstore sends out personalized emails to all students titled “Welcome to NMC’s AutoAccess Program!” At the bottom of this email there is a list of materials that will be provided for you. The access codes will appear like this:
    2. Term/Session Name: 2023 Fall - 2023 Fall
Course: PHL 122 1893 Title: A Student's Introduction to World Religions
      Price: $76.13
      Access Length: 180 days
      Opt-out Deadline: Sep 5, 2025
      Access Code: KHQ6TZC9RK8VXSBM
  2. How do I pay for my access?

    1. AutoAccess materials have already been billed directly to your NMC account. If you have questions about the status of their account or any open balances, contact Student Financial Services.
  3. What does it mean to “opt out”?

    1. All students enrolled in classes with AutoAccess materials are automatically “opted in”. If you do not wish to participate in AutoAccess and would prefer to find the materials on your own, you can use the link provided in your welcome email. That link opens up a personalized “Student Launch Page” showing all of the materials being used in your classes. Once you are opted out, access to the online content will be turned off, and a refund will be issued to your student account.
  4. Things were working fine for a couple of weeks, but now I can’t access my book!

    1. Please always access your book directly through Moodle. The most common reason someone can’t access their book is due to a bookmark; this may work for a short time, but then the connection is lost.
  5. What if I drop the course?

    1. As long as it occurs within the normal drop/add timeframe, all students who drop a class with AutoAccess materials will receive a full refund to their NMC account in 1-2 business days after dropping.
  6. Who do I contact for help?
    1. Students should reach out through the NMC Bookstore at bookstore@nmc.edu
