Programs
Have a desire to travel and a passion for the outdoors? Do you possess a sense of adventure and an independent spirit? If you've answered "yes," you may want to consider a career in maritime.
For those who seek a more regimented college experience and have interest in serving in the U.S. Naval Inactive Reserve, we offer the optional Strategic Sealift Midshipmen Program. The Midshipmen program supplements your cadet coursework, commissions graduates as Officers in the U.S. Navy Inactive Reserve (Ensign level) and is available for traditional and non-traditional cadets. The Student Incentive Program (SIP) can provide $32,000 in tax-free funding to participants in the SSMP to help offset the cost of tuition, books, uniforms and basic living expenses while attending GLMA. To find out more, visit the Naval Reserve program page.
The Great Lakes Maritime Academy does have a limited continuing education schedule for professional development and industry training. Learn more.

“I found a career that has taken me to cities throughout the Great Lakes and to places like Spain, Crete and Sicily. Not many recent college graduates can say that.”
