Pre-Orientation Checklist
There are a few things you can get going on right away! Check out our Pre-orientation Checklist for items to get finished before you start your orientation.

Send your high school and college transcripts, along with SAT/ACT and AP scores
- Make sure we have transcripts from your high school as well as other colleges. Official transcripts must be sent from each school to:

Traverse City, MI 49686 - If you have AP scores, call Advanced Placement at (888) 225-5427 to have them reported to NMC. AP scores are not included in high school transcripts.

Complete Math and English Placement
- Placement at NMC refers to the math and English courses that are the best fit for you to begin your academic plan. We can determine your placement by considering your high school GPA, SAT, ACT or GED test scores, previous college courses and college credit, or the Accuplacer placement exam. - Sign up for your virtual or in-person testing session here.
- Placement testing must be completed prior to attending your orientation session. Without placement you won't be able to register for all of your classes. If you have questions, call the Student Success Center at (231) 995-2134.
