Veterans invited to creative writing workshop

TRAVERSE CITY — All veterans interested in writing, including both novices and experienced writers, are invited to attend two free weekly, guided creative writing workshops for veterans.

Workshops are offered on a drop-in basis as follows:

• Mondays, 1-3 pm, Beckett 146
• Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 pm, Osterlin 204

In the workshops, veterans will write fiction, nonfiction, and poetry; looking at other writers for examples; and developing observational and writing skills. In some sessions work will be shared and discussed. Veterans are encouraged to write about whatever they like, which may or may not include their military experience. The workshops are free of charge during Spring and Summer 2014.
