Areas of Study at NMC

Northwestern Michigan College offers many areas of study that can result in one of four types of degree or three levels of certificate. More details about each type of degree/certificate and their requirements can be found at www.nmc.edu/programs/degrees.

• AAS: Associate in Applied Science — 64 credits minimum
• ADN: Associate Degree in Nursing — 72 credits minimum
• AGS: Associate in General Studies — 64 credits minimum to complete the "General Studies" program
• ASA: Associate in Science and Arts — 64 credits minimum; students most often apply this towards Transfer Options to obtain advanced degrees at other colleges and universities
• Certificates — Level I (16 cr.), Level II (32 cr.), & Level III (48 cr.)
