Housing at NMC...Submit an Application To apply to live in the Residence Halls, you must fill out and sign a Housing Contract Damage DepositA $500 Damage deposit is required to have a room reservation confirmed. It is important to note that the deposit cannot be covered by Financial Aid. It is collected to protect against possible damages and outstanding balances. This deposit is held on account and will be refunded at the time you move out of the Residence Halls if there are no damages or outstanding balances. Apply for Financial AidPlease be aware that if you need financial assistance your FAFSA must be received and awarded prior to move in date. Part of your award package may be student loans; please fill out your loan request form and return to the Financial Aid Office for certification. The FAFSA process usually takes 4 to 6 weeks from start to finish. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov. AcceptanceSubmission of this contract DOES NOT guarantee accommodations in the residence halls. Contracts will be reviewed by the housing staff and you will receive a letter in the mail informing you if you have been accepted. In order to live in the residence halls you must be enrolled in at least 6 NMC credits each semester. Make PaymentHousing charges are assessed to your student account each semester. Students will not be permitted to move in until satisfactory financial arrangements have been made with the cashier's office. Total housing balance is due by August 15th. Room AssignmentRoom assignments will be mailed in early August, this will include your room number, roommate's name and phone number, and move-in date.
