Kennard R. Weaver
Kennard R. Weaver was elected at the general election in November 2012 and re-elected for his second six-year term in 2018. His current term expires in 2024.
Weaver is Chair of the Audit Committee and serves as a member of the NMC Board of Trustees Executive and Building & Site committees, as well as the NMC Foundation Board.
Weaver began practicing law in 1965, and is a retired senior partner of Faegre Baker Daniels, an international law firm. He was earlier in the Office of General Counsel of the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is a graduate of Michigan State University Honors College on an Alumni Distinguished Scholarship, and Harvard Law School. He taught at Indiana University and the University of Maryland as an adjunct professor. He serves on the Board of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, and has been a director of many other nonprofit, commercial, and industrial boards of directors. A former Rotary Club President, he is active in Traverse City Rotary as chair of the World Community Service Committee.
